What is the specialty of Neuroscience:
A scientific study of the nervous system, an interdisciplinary branch of biology, combines neurofibromatology, neuroanatomy, molecular neurosciences, neurodevelopment, cellular and computer neurosciences, and psychology to understand the basic characteristics of neurons and their biomarkers. Eric Kandell described understanding the biological basis of learning, memory, behavior, cognition and consciousness as the "ultimate challenge" of biology. The scope of neuroscience has expanded over time to include different methods used to study the nervous system at different scales, and the techniques used by neuroscientists have expanded significantly, extending from molecular and cellular studies of the single neurology to the neuroscience of sensory and motor tasks in the blood.

 

History of Neuroscience Specialization:
the first study of the nervous system dates back to the Egyptian Ancients, and the skull hole (surgery involving digging or scraping a hole in the skull for the purpose of treating headaches, psychological disorders or craniotomy) was first recorded during the Neolithic period. Manuscripts dating from 1700 BC indicate that the ancient Egyptians had some knowledge of symptoms of brain damage. The first early views on brain function were considered to be some sort of "cranial stuffing." In Egypt, during the late Middle Kingdom and beyond, the brain was systematically removed in preparation for embalming, at which time the heart was believed to be the seat of intelligence. According to Herodot, the first step in embalming was "to take a twisted piece of iron, to use it to take out part of the brain through the scaffold, and to clean the rest of the skull by rinsing with medicine." There was no opposition to the vision that the heart was the source of consciousness until the Greek doctor Hippocrates came, believing that the brain was not only a function of sensation (since most private organs such as the eye, ear, and tongue in the head near the brain), but also the seat of intelligence. Plato also speculated that the brain is the seat of the rational part of the soul. Aristotle nevertheless believed that the heart was the center of intelligence and that the brain regulated the heart's heat. This view was generally accepted until the Roman physician Jalen (a follower of Hippocrates and the Roman gladiator doctor) observed that his patients lost their mental capacity when their brains were damaged.

At first, someone might tell you that neuroscience is concerned with studying different aspects of the nervous system as its components, function, and diseases. What neuroscientists are trying to understand is the relationship between human or animal behaviour in general - thinking, emotion and decision-making - and the vital components of the nervous system with all the functions and diseases that fall under it.
