Introduction by the University of Benha:
Benha University is an Egyptian university established by a decision issued on November 25, 1976 AD as a branch of Zagazig University in the city of Benha including the following: faculty of commerce, faculty of Engineering in Shubra, faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Agriculture in Moshtahr, and the College of Education in Benha City[1][2]. In the year 1981-82, the faculties of arts and sciences were established in Benha, and the faculties of veterinary medicine in Moshtahr were established. On 1-8-2005, an English language study division was established at the Faculty of Commerce from the 1997-1998 academic year. The university was independent of Zagazig University and became an independent university after it was a branch of it.

History of the establishment of Benha University:
105 years since the establishment of the Faculty of Agriculture as the first faculty of Benha University and ten years since the separation of Benha University from Zagazig University
- Benha University has been a branch of Zagazig University since 1976 by Presidential Decree No. 1142 on 25/11/1976 and it included five faculties (Agriculture in moshtahr, Engineering in Shubra, Commerce, Human Medicine, and Education in Benha).
- The College of Agriculture was established in 1911, which is considered one of the oldest colleges of agriculture at the level of the Republic.
- Ministerial Resolution No. 278 of 1981 was issued to establish the Faculty of Sciences and Arts in Benha and Veterinary Medicine in Moshtahr
- The Faculty of Law was established as a branch of the Faculty of Law in Zagazig in 1990 and its annexation to the Benha branch by Ministerial Resolution No. 287 of 1994
- The Higher Institute of Nursing in Benha was established by Ministerial Resolution No. 301 of 1992, after which it became the College of Nursing in 1996.
- The Faculty of Specific Education was included in the Benha branch by Ministerial Resolution No. 329 dated 10/1/1998
- Republican Decree No. 84 of (2005) was issued to dismiss the Zagazig University branch in Benha, and it became Benha University
- The Higher Institute of Technology was annexed to Benha University by Republican Decree No. 83 of 3/7/2006, and the Faculty of Computers and Information was established by Republican Decree No. 267 dated 7/20/2006 AD.
- Benha University is the thirteenth in terms of origin among the seventeen universities. The university campus occupies several places in the cities of Benha, Moshtahr, Shubra and Obour, and the university includes 16 faculties, which are the faculties of medicine, nursing, science, education, physical education, commerce, arts, law, specific education, computers, artificial iron, and engineering in Benha (formerly the Higher Institute of Technology), treatment. Natural resources in the city of Benha, in addition to the Faculties of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine in Moshtahr and the Faculty of Engineering in Shubra. A number of 108 acres in Obour City have been allocated to Benha University to meet the future expansions of the university.
- Benha University also includes some service units such as the General Administration for Student Welfare, four university cities for students in the cities of Benha, Moshtahr, Toukh, and Shubra, two cities for female students in the cities of Banha and Shubra, and 36 centers and units of a special nature that serve the university and the community, distributed across the university.

Dr. Nasser El-Gizawy, Acting President of Benha University, said that the university ranked 801-1000 globally among 1,662 universities in the 2022 British Times Higher Education Institutions Classification of Universities around the world.
He pointed out that Benha University was ranked, during this edition, among more than 30,000 universities spread around the world.
