The first roots of brand use can be traced back to prehistoric times. It began its practice mostly through the branding of farm animals in the Middle East in the Stone Age. Stone Age and Bronze Age cave drawings illustrate images of branded livestock.

Ancient Egyptian funeral artwork depicts branded animals as well. Over time, this practice expanded to the marking of personal property such as luxury time and equipment, and eventually, some types of trademarks or slogans were placed on goods intended for trade.

About 4000 years ago, producers began putting simple stone seals on products that over time turned into mud seals with great images, often linked to the product's personal identity, giving the product a unique personality in itself.
