Kindergarten, kindergarten or nursery school (German: Kindergarten) is an educational institution for children before they enter school. This term was developed by the German scientist Friedrich Froebel, who called it the institution of play and activities that he established in 1837 AD in "Badplankenberg" as a social experience for children to move from home to school. By this Vrubel meant that children should be cared for and fed in (children's gardens) like plants in a garden. Kindergarten enrollment age varies in different countries. The history of early childhood education and care refers to the development of education and care from birth to the age of eight throughout history. The arrangements necessary to fulfill these societal roles have evolved over time, and have remained diverse between cultures, which is largely reflected on the structure of the family and society along with the economic and social role of men and women. Historically, in the nineteenth century in particular, the formalization and legalization of arrangements related to early childhood education and care emerged, as they were not subject to the law to some extent. After the twentieth century marked by constant change, a massive campaign was launched calling for more rights for women, and women were eager to continue their university education and join the workforce. However, mothers today still face the same challenges that generations before them did about how to care for young children while they are at work. The formalization of these arrangements emerged in the nineteenth century with the establishment of kindergartens for educational purposes and day nurseries in a number of European and North American regions, Brazil, China, India, Jamaica and Mexico.
