Helwan University is one of the Egyptian public universities and includes 20 colleges and is affiliated with the Supreme Council of Egyptian Universities.
The establishment of the university is a milestone in the development of the concept of university education in Egypt. Helwan University is located in the Ain Helwan area on an area of 350 acres. The foundation stone was laid in 1975 and the construction contract for the first phase was signed on August 1, 1985. Since then, the establishment of Helwan University has begun, which includes 23 colleges and 49 units of a special character and a number of new facilities. Since the university settled in its location, interest in the surrounding environment has begun, which is the city of Helwan, Ezbet El Walda and Ain Helwan, through conferences and seminars to improve the environment surrounding the university.

On July 26, 1975 AD, Helwan University was established by Law No. 70 of the year 1975 Then the university faculties began to gather within one campus after many years of diaspora, with its unique non-recurring quality faculties in Egyptian universities (Faculty of Applied Arts, Faculty of Art Education, Faculty of Music Education). The parent colleges and similar colleges in other universities emerged from them.
