Bolu Abant Izzet Baysal University, one of the famous universities in our country, was founded in an area surrounded by natural beauty between the two cities of Istanbul and Ankara, on July 3, 1992. The university, which has been developing rapidly since its foundation, has a campus in the city center and three districts in Bolu (Gered, Mingin , Modorno). The main campus of the university, namely the Izzet Baysal Campus, is located in Golkoy, 8 km from the city center and surrounded by a unique natural beauty.

The university has 17 colleges, 1 institute, 1 school, 8 vocational schools, and 19 research centers. 1,586 faculty members and 1,125 administrative staff at the university pride themselves on providing a high-quality, modern learning environment to approximately 31,509 students.

University history

Founded on July 3, 1992, Abant Bolu University Izzet Baysal is one of the noteworthy universities in our country, located in an area surrounded by natural beauty between the two cities of Istanbul and Ankara. A campus in the city center and three districts in Bolu (Gerede, Mengen, Modorno). The main campus of the university, namely the Izzet Baysal Campus, is located in Golkoy, 8 km from the city center and surrounded by a unique natural beauty.

The university includes 17 faculties, 1 institute, 1 school, 8 vocational schools, and 19 research centers. The 1,586 faculty members and 1,125 administrative staff at the university are proud to offer a high-quality, modern learning environment to around 31,509 students.

Bolu Abant Izzet Baysal University is a third model because it is not a purely state or foundation university but rather a state university supported by an institution. Bolu Abant Izzet Baysal University is supported by the foundation founded by Izzet Baysal, one of Turkey's greatest philanthropists. The university has reached an excellent physical structure and superior technological infrastructure with investment in facilities and equipment worth 262 million TL as of 2010 funded by Izzet Baysal Foundation and state allotment. The Foundation not only supports the international achievements of academics but also provides scholarships to successful students.

The university aims to become the fastest developing university to go beyond the level of modern civilization as suggested by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, founder of the Republic of Turkey.
