Introduction by the University of İzmir Economics:

Izmir Economic University is one of the most important private universities in Turkey, located in the Turkish Mediterranean city of Izmir, which draws a very large number of local and international students from different countries around the world.

The Izmir Economic University was founded by the Health and Education Foundation of the Izmir City Chamber of Commerce on April 14, 2001, to start its academic activities with 2 colleges, 5 vocational schools, and 2 graduate schools with 288 students. On July 1, 2001, the university moved to its current campus in the district of Balçova following the approval of the then Mayor of Izmir. The Izmir Economic University has high status as the first private university in the Aegean region, and one of the most preferred universities by students, with 16,200 students graduating to date. The purpose of its foundation was to educate and educate young people who were able to participate actively in raising the economic level of the country.

The University has 8 colleges with distinguished departments, such as the Department of Aviation and Space Engineering as well as Medical Tool Engineering, 5 vocational schools, and 13 graduate schools, offering 35 bachelor's, 38 graduate, and 9 doctoral programs.
