What is the specialty of New Media
The New Media Institute defines new media as “a catchall term used to define all that is related to the internet and the interplay between technology, images and sound.” That's in contrast to “old media,” which PCMag defines as all forms of communication that came before digital technology, including “radio and TV and printed materials such as books and magazines.”
It also constantly changes. As new technology is developed and widely adopted, what is considered new continues to morph. Once upon a time, DVDs and CDs were the latest way to watch movies and listen to music. Now, streaming services such as Netflix and Spotify are more popular.

The history of New media :
In today’s generation, people no matter of their age become very dependent in social media. But have you ever wonder where this social media came from? or who got this idea? Today, I will help you a little to enlighten about new media.
Xerox PARC short for Xerox Palo Alto research center began to operates in the year 1970’s. Alan kay along with his co-workers in 1980’s starts to give the computability of a personal computer to the individual. Also in this year, analog media such as television and radio starts to boom. the following twenty five years rapidly transform because of the use of digital technologies including the video games and of course, the internet. the old media was changed into digital media. digital television and online publications are some of this example. even the traditional media: printing press was now in new media is photoshop and image manipulation. Up to this present, internet is still a trend that everyone depends on. different sites and application keep rising on the internet

The importance of New media :
New media Provides information: One thing about news media is it will always provide information. This includes information about what’s going on nationally and internationally, health, politics, and even celebrities. But be wary of fake news, as it can give you false information.Keeps us updated: News media is always timely. It wouldn’t be news media if it wasn’t timely with the information it provides. The more current and significant a piece of information is, the more likely it’ll be spread on numerous platforms.
Conversation starter: Commentary in news media is nothing new. If anything, it can bring up different opinions on certain topics, start debates, and create conversations you never thought you would have with the people around you.
News media isn’t going anywhere. As a society, we want to stay in touch with the world around us. Without news media, we would have a hard time knowing “what’s up” with the world
