Introduction by the University of  Belgorod Government:

Belgorod State University was founded in 1876 in the city of Belgorod. Belgorod is one of the most beautiful cities in the Russian Federation. All necessary facilities are located next to the student campus. It is located in the city center, and it takes some minutes to reach the city center on foot. First, the university has established a teacher training institute. And in 1919, the university was reorganized into the Belgorod Institute. In 1923, the Belgorod Institute of Education was restructured into a pedagogical faculty. In 1939., In 1967. In 1994, the Institute became an educational university. In July 1996, Belgorod State Pedagogical University, named after Mr. Olmenskogo, created the Faculty of the Financial and Economic Institute of the Russian State Committee for Higher Education, and the Belgorod Medical College of the Belgorod Region, into a single educational institution now known as Belgorod State University.
